Life of Things

This collection of objects reflects on the definition of life with the aim of creating a change in the perspective that we –humans- have of our environment.

If we look closely at our surroundings, we become aware of the dynamism and vitality of each of the parts - both organic and inorganic - of the universe. Things are not static but are transformed by exchanging energy and matter with their environment. They are constantly related, and through that interaction they have a life of their own. This is how life is the energy that allows things to change, by exercising and receiving forces from other things.

However, many times, as human beings, we overlook much of the life of things. First of all, because it occurs in scales of space and time different from ours. Also, because we tend to blindly trust our own perception of the universe, while ignoring that our senses are very limited, and that they do not allow us to have a complete view of reality. Finally, because we are condemned to live from our human condition, so that the life of everything else is kept secret for us.

Life of the chair - Centrifugal force

This project seeks to partially access the life of objects by understanding their nature and establishing sensory relationships with them that allow us to perceive part of their essence. It seeks to enhance the invisible energies that objects have, so that we can perceive them, and demonstrate the amount of life that is around us and we normally overlook. Thus, by giving importance to the different relationships that objects establish, it seeks to generate a change in the perspective that humans have of objects around him, to reflect and understand that these are beings in themselves and not utilitarian means at the service of man.
