Recipe to Say Goodbye

Recipe to say goodbye is a pedagogical tool designed for the Pan de Vida CER foundation and the communities in which it works.

This foundation promotes community kitchens in the low-income neighborhoods of Bogotá. However, it has as a pillar not to perpetuate itself in any place, but to give the necessary tools to the communities so that they can become self-sufficient. The problem is that the moment of separation between the foundation and the community generates instability and a sense of abandonment for its members.

To mitigate this feeling,  Recipe to Say Goodbye guides a farewell ceremony in which, as an Ajiaco - Colombian typical soup- is cooked, all the teachings that the community learned along with Pan de Vida CER are remembered. Likewise, a graduation is held in order for the community to realize that it is already self-sufficient. The values and principles of the foundation are transmitted to the community, and the physical and emotional detachment through which they pass is resignified. Thus, the legacy of the foundation lasts in the community regardless of whether Pan de Vida CER is present in the place.

This project was carried out in conjunction with  María Borrero, Yesid Castiblanco, Daniela Hernández de Alba and Luisa Navarro.
